Before finishing, sheetrock must be hung properly, with screw heads set to the correct depth and corner beads installed. Next all gaps are backfilled to create a solid foundation behind the tape. Once the gaps are set we apply a tape coat to the drywall. Mud is used adhere the tape to the seams. Next comes a bed coat of mud, to start covering the tape and creating a smooth surface. After that we provide a finish coat to even out the surface. Last, sanding is completed to ensure a smooth final product. The wall or ceiling is now ready for paint.

A patch of sheetrock is first measured, cut, and placed into the hole. The edges of the hole are taped and given a skim coat. After the first coat dries, multiple finishing coats of plaster are used. If desired, a pattern can be textured on the final coat. Last, sanding is completed to give the wall a uniform look. This multi-step process usually takes several days to finish.

No, plaster is considered the higher quality finish. The benefits to plaster include better durability and longevity if properly maintained. Plaster is also more sound absorbent. The installation of plaster requires greater skill and training than drywall. A variety of textures and patterns can be achieved with plaster.

We promise to treat your home with respect while completing your project. Before we begin, we ask that you remove as much furniture as possible from the space. All walkways and work spaces will be covered with drop cloths. Fixtures, furniture, and other non-movable items will be covered with plastic to ensure your home remains clean and free from damage. Our team will provide a detailed cleaning once the work is completed to ensure your home is left neat and tidy.
