A patch of sheetrock is first measured, cut, and placed into the hole. The edges of the hole are taped and given a skim coat. After the first coat dries, multiple finishing coats of plaster are used. If desired, a pattern can be textured on the final coat. Last, sanding is completed to give the wall a uniform look. This multi-step process usually takes several days to finish.
